Electrochemical Evaluation of Phosphated Galvanized Steel

In this paper, the behavior of corrosion in phosphated galvanized steel without defect and with surface is evaluated electrolyte solutions sodium chloride at a concentration 3% sulfate 0.1 M objective simulating marine environment presence chlorides, sulfates for industrial environment. experimental methodology, samples are used, each were exposed sulfate. The was electrochemical techniques Lineal Polarization Resistance, Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy Potentiodynamic Curves order to study predict that can be obtained according type electrolyte. Regarding final result both cases, plate defect, greater effect observed NaCl compared Na 2 SO 4 . Phosphate protection influenced corrosive processes produced by solutions, since phosphates slow down process. When exposure time elapses, thicker layer possible products generated, retarding effects corrosion.
